Dr. E. Alan Grote, Technical Advisor, received a BS degree in Life Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a PhD in Cell Biology from the University of California, San Francisco, and postdoctoral training at Yale University. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Dr. Grote has extensive research experience in cell biology, with an emphasis on cell-cell fusion, intracellular membrane trafficking, synaptic vesicle exocytosis, and MAP kinase signaling. He has additional expertise in genetics, molecular biology, microscopy, and proteomics. He is on the faculty of Johns Hopkins University, and has been a frequent lecturer and seminar speaker. He has been the principle investigator on grants and fellowships from the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and the American Cancer Society. He has coauthored over 20 scientific articles published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals including Cell, the Journal of Cell Biology, the Journal of Cell Science, Molecular Biology of the Cell, and the Journal of Biological Chemistry.
